Cannery Moon Garden
This project, a 138 sq. ft. courtyard space enclosed by wrought iron gates entitled “The Cage,” was the winning entry for the Spring Show Design Charrette Competition Award. The courtyard space is located in the historic Cannery building and was intended to be transformed for the Academy of Art University’s annual Spring Show.

Concept
The Cannery Moon Garden takes inspiration from the historic Cannery building and nearby Fisherman’s Wharf. It comes to life during the evening hours and features decorative lighting as well as white and silver planting to reflect the light of the moon. A simple seating area helps to transform the space and provide a direct connection to the indoor Spring Show venue.
